刺客教條 維京紀元是維京勇士埃沃爾從戰鬥和榮耀中崛起的故事。在公元9世紀，埃沃爾帶著族人離開資源匱乏和受戰淨摧殘的挪威，來到英格蘭。當維京人開始在新家園定居時，他們將遭遇包括韋塞克斯王國國王阿爾弗雷德大帝在內的撒克遜人的抵抗。阿爾弗雷德將維京人視為野蠻的異教徒，並希望成為文明化的英格蘭的唯一統治者。儘管困難重重，但埃沃爾必須為自己的族人開闢一個全新的未來，盡其所能來捍衞自己關於維京紀元的夢想和榮耀。
